They don’t typically stay there they’re entire career.
Nearly every person at the pentagon started out in the “regular” Army and had to meet the standard in order to go to the Pentagon.

I've seen the same baws for 8 years followed by transition jobs into contractor and gov positions with nearly identical roles.
