The two stereotypes of each hold some water, but not a whole lot. Houston is definitely more laid back and has a more diverse, vibrant culture. Dallas does have more pretentiousness, but I think it's a bit overblown. Downtown houston is WAY more developed and fun that downtown Dallas. Deep Ellum is one of the coolest neighborhoods in America, so Dallas that going for it. The music scene in Dallas is better. Houston food scene is better (not debatable IMO).
I do like that each neighborhood of Dallas proper is walkable, once there. But you obviously can't walk from one neighborhood to the next.
Love Field is the GOAT.
A suburb is a suburb, so the rest is moot. Dallas needs a rail going out to ATT / Rangers stadium ASAP.
Rodeo cookoff this weekend is one of the best weekends in Houston. I would vote St Pat's parade for Dallas' weekend.
This is pretty spot on I think. Dallas is definitely cleaner too, even the biggest Houston homers like myself will admit that. Overall they’re very similar but because there’s so much crossover between the two as far as people go the differences get magnified.
Overall both are great cities to live in as young people starting a career. Tons of stuff going on and very affordable as far as large cities go
