Its a mixed bag.

Are teachers worse off? Financially yes, public teachers are worse off and have less representation. You decide if that is overall fair.

Are schools worse off? I would say that they aren't better. Likely worse as money is tighter than ever. Social issues and safety issues on a major rise.

Was ACT 10 a disaster? No. I understand the disdain for public sector unions. I can't stand the concept myself. But some will say it has been terrible if they can't get past the non union concept.

As a moderate conservative to see the public schools....and hear the language ...and see football teams kneeling for the anthem....and smell the pot.. And see the progressive left platform promoted at every turn....(valentine's day in the library we have half the books on display for gay and lesbian students, kids are told they can sit for the anthem every day on the loudspeaker and they all do, etc) and the complete absence of God and total disdain for anything right of the aisle...it's super disheartening.

I like to ask 2 questions of I am looking to engage.
1) if Christianity was true would you be a Christian?
2) are there any issues where you might take the Republican side on politically?

1 is usually a great struggle. 2 is a definite "nope"

Good post. This is the central problem with the American political discourse IMO. Too many allow their beliefs to be influenced by their political affiliation rather than the visa versa. It's the tail wagging the dog. Disgusting.

I'm confident you have your own biased/ignorant view of what true Christianity would be. There are no abortions in true Christianity; that's for sure.
