re: What was campus like when Shaq was here?

I was there and I can tell you Shaq was a cool cat and just another student. Him and CJ were in a couple of my classes.

It was different back then. I camped out for the LSU Duke game and I remember it like it was yesterday. One of my buddies was an aid in the PMac and we strung together like 15-20 extension cords to set up a Madden tourney on Sega while we waited for the doors to open in “Tent Land”.

The atmosphere was eclectic and we were the group that started the chant of HOMOSEXUAL to Laetner like the FSU chant.

Nowadays I bet you can’t even come close to doing that.

On another note. Our group was also the reason why there is a protective net around college game day.

We had fun back then. It was the best years of my life and I would have never changed anything and YES that team should have won it all. My favorite player on that team was Vernell Singleton. That guy could jump out of the gym. Major ups.
