You can sink all you want into public school education ... you can get the best teachers ... it will not matter so long as the student body is what it is.


At this point ... I am not sure that it can be fixed.


A lot of people like it broken as frick just the way it is.

But you have to start with getting better teachers who want to teach and have passion for it and enjoy it and actually know what the frick they are teaching. If you have a sad miserable teacher who doesnt inspire the kids then the kids will see this and care only as much as the teacher does. I think 85 percent of the kids can be inspired to do better no matter how shitty their home life is. Most kids want their teachers approval at a young age unless the teacher is shitty and is only there collecting a paycheck. Matter of fact teachers should only be allowed to do a few years then have to take off some time to become refreshed. They get burnt out quickly.

I agree, our school dysfunction is a cultural/demographic problem.

I doubt anyone likes it broken but a lot of people don't want to admit what the problems are or do the rational things to solve the problems.
