The biggest issue was that we had a generation that didn't pan out for whatever reason. We had a good aging generation (Donovan/Dempsey's group), and we have a potentially our best young generation right now, but we had very little depth of players in their prime in this cycle. The warning signs were there when we missed multiple Olympics and youth world cups.
