Coming to LSU would have paired him with first-year LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, who worked on Kiffin's staff at Tennessee and at Southern Cal. Kiffin instead took the head coaching job at Florida Atlantic, and LSU hired Matt Canada from Pitt to be the school's offensive coordinator."
