Hired a guy at my previous company for oilfield sales. It was basically the kind of job you can do from home or car. Visit customers, they don't come to us.
He was with us for 2 weeks and didn't seem to be picking up much about our products. We had an impromptu meeting one afternoon at the office and I called him to let him know he needed to come to our production facility for a meeting. We have 70 people at that location including admin and sales. He asked me if he could come in shorts. We were a $40 million dollar a year company.
I fired him 2 days later.
