Does said system have the existing capacity to manage an influx of 1000's and 1000's of pounds of (assumedly) non-perishable food items and maintain their current level of productivity?

It's an efficient system, right? And increasing its funding to increase capacity should be a simple exercise.

That's a single leg of the logistics chain, and one which is incredibly unsuited to large-scale deliveries of perishable goods (which is why Amazon is doing more and more of its own logistics after the Whole Foods acquisition).
