If this is indeed the case, how did old Biff return to the original 2015 (where Doc and Marty were trying to get Jennifer how of older Marty's house) and return the Delorean where he stole it?
By giving his younger self the almanac, wouldn't that have changed the course of time and rendered him unable to return to that original 2015?
2015 changed around Marty and Doc. If you notice, Biff doesn't return to 2015 until Doc and Marty are outside the house leaving. It's no longer 2015 at that point and is now 2015A, Marty and Doc just don't notice. A deleted scene shows Biff "fade away" after landing the Delorian. It's explained on the commentary this happened because Loraine shot Biff sometime in the 1990's. They should have left that little scene in.

Why did it change to 2015A after Biff returns and not immediately after he leaves?
Biff giving himself the almanac in 1955 isn't happening simultaneously with Doc and Marty rescuing Jennifer. Technically, as soon as Biff leaves for 1955, its already happened.

eta: here's the "you got a permit?" deleted scene. Doc's mannerism's here definitely didn't go with the rest of the movie. as funny as it is, i'm glad they didn't go with it.
