DiNardo was the most controversial. He had 4 losing seasons at Vandy and lost his last game there 65-0.
I don't know though, even though you present a strong case...O seems like it beats out Dinardo in being a questionable hire. LSU now has the money, the facilities, the alumni support and fan interest, and is one of the big dogs of college football, unlike LSU after firing Hallman. No fricking excuse for making that hire.

Orgeron had a sliver of fan support behind his hire; DiNardo had none. Fans warmed up after his 6-4-1 first year, but no one liked the hire at the time.

Hallman had big wins over Bama and FSU, there were some expectations that he’d do something. Archer was a horrible recruiter and Hallman walked into a real bare cupboard. Hallman wasn’t a good coach, at all, but he left more talent than what he inherited.
