7-5 or 6-6 is always possible. But, what our fans are doing is taking every toss up game we have and assuming a loss to further the narrative that we suck. People posted the same nonsense after we lost to Troy and said it was totally possible for us to finish with 4 or 5 wins. Being possible and probably are two different things. It is not probable that we go 6-6 next year. We are not likely to lose every toss up game we play. I don't care who the HC coach is. Our defense alone will prevent us from totally sucking. I expect that to remain elite. It's really hard to be that bad with an elite defense. Our offense was absolutely dreadful in 2010, yet we still managed an 11 win season. not saying we will have an 11 win season this year, but having a bad offense doesn't prevent you from winning football games if you have a great defense.

Fair enough. To be clear, which games do you consider to be "toss up" games? I see three games where we will be a heavy underdog, 4 games what I guess would be considered "toss up" games, and the remaining games that we should win. So, 7-5 would mean we lose the 3 we are underdogs in and split the "toss up" games.

toss ups (in order of most probable wins):
Florida
State
Miami
Auburn

probable losses:
UGA
Alabama
(duh)

probable wins (in order of most probable win):
Ole Miss
Arkansas
A&M

definite wins:
USL
La tech
Rice

So I have us as having 6 probable or definite wins, 4 toss ups, and 2 probable losses. So IMO we could finish anywhere from 6-6 to 10-2. I expect 8-4 or 9-3. I also think beating UGA is not out of the question. We play them at home and they lost a lot of experience from their team this year. I'd like to say we could beat Alabama with that game being at home to, but I fully expect to be right in the game and lose at the end just like we have the last 3 times they've played in Baton Rouge.
