I'm curious if anyone on the M/TV Board has seen this movie? It ended up being BAFTA and Oscar nominated. Our local museum has added several more dates of its run to its on site theater and I was considering checking it out. It can also be rented on Prime or Apple apparently.

Yes. It’s pretty impressive. 65,000 hand painted frames in the style of Van Gogh. A bit trippy on the eyes and may be hard to watch for an epileptic. Though the storyline is a tad bland, it’s an impressive film. Worth a watch

Just watched it. One of the most visually stunning movies I have ever seen. Simply amazing. It has the detail, atmosphere, and complexity of some of the more "eccentric" video games out there. And let's face it, that's where the cutting edge of visuals are. Except this was not done with computers.
Also, I liked the casting of Saoirse Ronan and Jerome Flynn, a.k.a. "Ser Bronn of the Blackwater" as two of the main characters.
If you want to see a movie with a similar atmosphere and graphics, check out "Chico & Rita". It's a love story set in Cuba/NYC during the rise of the Latin Jazz movement. It is stunning visually and musically.
