I'd go Indiana Jones and of course Star Wars has cultural cachet. My tastes are a bit towards some smaller trilogies: the Evil Dead, Trois Coleurs, and the Before series by Linklater. I loved the Cornetto trilogy answer. Pretty great stuff.

If we get to dump crystal skull, I'd prefer Jones easily over LotR. LotR doesn't age well with me, it was amazing the first few viewings and now it's a chore to get through and you can't just go back and watch one, it's an obligation to watch them all. I can sit down with any of the Indy movies and watch them separate.

Before trilogy is a classic too, it should be in the discussion.
