My one complaint with Will Wade

Let me start off by saying that I love Will Wade. This team has and will continue to play over their heads because of his coaching. We are going to get out talented most nights, but I feel like the team will be prepared and they will play hard.
With that said, we are starting to see the offense have a little tougher time score points. Mostly defenses are adjusting to Waters. Every time up the court we either see a big set a ball screen or a low post entry to Reath or Epps on occasion.
Now Wade is new and it could just be a case of he had other priorities to focus on so some other things have fallen by the wayside that we will see the team gradually start to implement over the course of the season. But where are the sets for particular skill sets?
Teams have adjusted to Tremont, why don't we run him off ball trying to get him open looks? Daryl Edwards is another fantastic shooter, run him off some screens. Obviously you can implement this into some of the ball screens you already like to run up top. South Carolina runs this very nice three man weave coupled with a ball screen and off ball flare for open looks in the corner. Brandon Sampson is an incredible athlete, let's get him running off some back door screens. This is one of the few teams that I haven't seen run a Horns set all season. You can run these sets from anywhere on the court, from the elbow, the wing, the baseline, etc. Kentucky runs this great black door play where it looks like you're running a set for two guys in the paint but it's actually setting up a backdoor screen. Northern Iowa runs a very nice 1-4 High Veer Action where you have the screener curl to the rim for a lob. You have a guy like Epps, be a little more creative with how you get him shots rather than just picking and popping or standing in the corner.

I've seen a few sets run for Edwards (because he's a good catch and shoot guy)... Problem is it hasn't been enough and lately he's been in a funk

Good suggestions. Can you call in to the show Monday night and ask? I'd be curious to hear the response

I saw a lot of standing around today and not hustling for loose balls. To me that is where we are losing games

Maybe you should apply for a college basketball job. Oh, you're not qualified.

No offense, but LSU lost to Vanderbilt today. Vanderbilt was 6-12 and 1-5 SEC before the LSU game. If LSU is playing over their heads they must really SUCK !!!

When your best player is a 5'9 Freshman PG, you will go through struggles. Even running him off of ball screens, he's not physical enough if he gets bumped at all. He's much better with the ball in his hands.
I think the biggest problem is that Tre is frustrated with teams adjusting, specifically by putting 6'6+ guys on him, and how tough it is to get shots off now. This is a great learning process. In the coming years, when we have Smart/Days/Reid/Mays/Williams (please)/Sampson they won't be able to mismatch as much because we have too much talent everywhere.

He is clearly not the great Coach everyone thought he was.

Running him off ball could also work since we run two point guards right?

Excellent point about getting Sampson shots. He’s the most explosive offense player we have. He can go for 18/20 on any night. I’m going to chalk talk Wednesday w WW I’ll make it a point to ask.

I'd like to hear WW speak on Mays constant Kamikaze drives to the goal with his head down. I know Mays was instrumental in getting us back in the game but allowing this constantly can't be good in the big picture.

I've been saying our offensive movement and set plays have been lacking all season. Way too reliant on Waters.
