Taylor is by far the greatest Defensive player ever.
I'd probably argue the most influential defensive player ever due to his dominance from the pass rush I just never understood where the whole "LT=greatest defensive player ever" argument came from maybe because he was for a New York team and was the last defensive player in league history to win MVP, from what I've read and observed LT wasn't a great fundamental player nor was he a threat from the pass defense angle which is basically why he infiltrated the backfield almost all the time throughout his career. Was the best at it but facts are facts bro.

Well considering teams drafted people to beat him and conceived offenses just to stop him, there is your answer. You think LT could not cover? Do you not watch football? He would drop in zones. He was a monster.
Lott was a Safety, you could go away from him and when he was a Corner teams went after him, which is why the Niners moved him to Safety.
Dick Night Trane Lane CB
Mel Blount CB
Rod Woodson CB/S
Mike Haynes CB/S
Ronnie Lott as a Nickel
That would be your ultimate DB group.

This is an instance where IF you would have saw him play and understand what coaches went through to find a way to slow him down, you would understand it better... you cant get from books how great Taylor was.....
