Doors open an hour and a half before tip. Just walk down to the court and lots of the guys will sign autographs, take pics and chat with your kiddos.

That's cool. Had no idea they did that.
OP - I'd say get there an hour early. Let them see the real Mike the tiger if he's out. Take a pic by the tiger statue. We usually get to our seats about 10-15 minutes before tip.

Thanks for the advice guys! We are ready! Boys are so excited. We’re probably gonna get there around 5:30 or so and go see if mike is out. Any recommendations on parking?
