Jog my memory because I was busy with some other things in life when it happened...what were the health reasons Stoops cited for retiring? Because if they're serious, KSU is not a good place to be. When I lived in Manhattan people routinely got referred to KC, not Topeka or Lawrence but all the way to KC, for stuff. Not a good place to be sick.

His health issues never explained I thought. But I think he just wanted away from stress/ulcers.
I think he will be a great AD at K State as he is family and they learned the lesson with Prince. Prince’s most disgusting thing wasn’t losing but firing Shorty the way he did it.
There’s a prestigious award at K State names for Shorty and that arse just threw him under the bus and fired him

Stoops didn't retire for health reasons per se.
He retired because he didn't want to end up like his dad, who had a heart attack on the field and died en route to the hospital at age 54 (Bob is 57). He's made no bones about the fact that he wants to enjoy life with his family and take it easy, and he was pretty open when he was coaching about how football wasn't his entire life and he wasn't a crazy workaholic. People connected with him say he's absolutely retired for good.
I figure Stoops will get the Grumor treatment for several coaching cycles before people give it a rest.
