Well and that's the exact reason that Myles wasn't starting. I didn't say he was as good and I guess what I should have said is that he was good enough to come in for him against bama at the end.
He was on his tail. Of course he wasn't as good. One guy had been here for a few months the other for a few years. That's quite the difference and IMO tells you about his talent level if he was good enough to at least be in the argument for the starters job. Etling should be way ahead mentally and he was. As far as running the offense, and its moving parts, he was better IMO.
Where he's way behind is in experience, which helps you to learn your offenses strengths and weakness's and learn how to adjust to the speed of the game. Learn who to throw against, who not, learn when you have an advantageous match up, when not. Things like this within the offense that he can learn this offseason. If he's quick enough, he can adjust to the speed of the game much faster.
We'll see but I'm not that ignorant to think Myles was close enough mentally to be the starter. Physically and in some aspects mentally he was right there with him. I could see it. He simply needs the game experience and more time with this offense. He isn't that far off though. It's there.
