Honest question...why continue to say what you did?

Because I'm tired of people blaming O for Alleva's fk up. I'm tired of people being unable or unwilling to move past Troy. I'm tired of people blaming O for a soft SEC. I'm tired of people blind to the fact that the team has progressed late in the season...something most
Miles teams did not do (particularly after our yearly arse whipping to Bama).....tired of people saying that O's record at Ol Miss has anything to do with the here and now.

Need I go on? Because I can.

its hard not to progress from losing to troy.

also the 3 teams we played after bama had a combined 5 sec wins.4 wins came from 1 team.

Chattanooga- 8 losses
byu- 9 losses
Syracuse-8 losses
Florida- 7 losses
tenn- 8 losses
a&m -5 losses
ole miss-6 losses
arkansas- 8 losses
auburn 3 losses

6 of our 9 wins cane against twans with at least 7 losses

Who is blaming O for someone else hiring him? Do you actually read what you post?

No one is blaming him for having a weak schedule. Again, that doesn't even make sense. People have only said that it's hard to take a whole lot away from beating a bunch of terrible teams and 1 good one

I and many, many others who were critical of the hire have on many, many occasions given him his due for holding things together and not letting the season go completely down the tubes after the Troy/State fiasco(es). Whoops, I'm not supposed to mention those games anymore, huh?

I've seen this posted before but I'm not sure if I've ever addressed it, so I will here. I blame BOTH. I blame Alleva for being so idiotic so as to even have Orgeron on the whiteboard of possible targets...but I ALSO blame Orgeron for CLEARLY asking for the job behind the scenes, and almost certainly before Miles was shite canned. If Alleva needs to be called out for hiring a guy that's unqualified, then the guy who begged for the job for which he was unqualified also needs to be held to blame. This is DOUBLY true for a guy who claims to love the program, as it comes off as nothing but a selfish move to get what he wanted.

I get it. I do. And as soon as the program moves back up to equal to the previous regime (not losing to teams like Troy) and surpasses it, that loss will be very obvious. Essentially, Orgeron's program needs to make that loss look like the anomaly you guys claim it is. He's yet to do that as far as I'm concerned.

I haven;t seen anyone BLAME him, though I've seen people claim they have. I have seen people point out that it's difficult to asses what we have in Orgeron given how soft the schedule is...and I think that's an honest reason to be concerned. Likewise, if the SEC was absolutely brutal this year, those looking to pump up Orgeron's first year would be pointing out the winning % of the teams we played and they'd be right to do so as it may very well be an indication of how well he did. With the case of the SEC being down, I'm not ready to say the ONLY reason we're at 9-3 is because of that, but if anyone doesn't at least wonder if this year was a good barometer for what we can expect I don;t think they're being honest with themselves.

No...we see it. The difference is that we not only see that, but we also hold the coaches responsible, at least partly, for why we needed to see such a big turnaround in the first place. After all, while it may a good thing to point out that your son was able to get the car out of the ditch, it might also be wise to at least inquire about how it got there in the first place, and then hold responsible whoever was to blame.

Miles' teams only regressed like that his final 2 seasons. It was not some trend beginning in 2005 and held true his entire tenure. and again, given they never tanked as badly as Orgeron's team did at the start of this season, being able to applaud some meteoric rise fro the grave was never really on the table...as you'd have had to be in the grave to start with.

Well, it does until it doesn't and that goes back to the hire. He has yet to show any long term sustained proof that he's a better coach than he was at Ole Miss. Until he does, the smart money is on a likely repeat because it's the only data points we have. now...had he gone elsewhere and had a good sustained run on his own as the head guy, continuing to talk only about ole miss would be a bad luck and a dishonest move.

Sure! I have to head out a bit but I'll catch up in a few hours.
