I'd like my wife to be able to use it as well and like the idea of her having a simple revolver to use in an emergency, especially when shes not gun sauvy.. we have an m1a1 beast of a rifle, just need something more handheld.

A semi auto is just as simple to use as a revolver. I have a few .357s and my wife hates to shoot them because of the recoil. She is border line scared of them, but on the other hand she can shoot any of my semi 9mm pistols like a champ. If I am giving my wife a gun to defend herself I am going with less recoil and more rounds every time.
