People who think suicide is selfish are very uneducated. I work in mental health and when people get to the point of suicide they are in a very dark place. Lots of timee no clue how they got there, and no clue how to get out. Depression is VERY real and VERY scary. To work in this environment and see it on a daily basis it really opens your eyes. Mental illness is real.. just like someone gets the flu, someone can be struck with mental illness. And if not caught and treated fast it can spiral out of control until they think the only option is to end it all. They are not thinking rationally and can not think rationally. Their wires are all crossee up, and there is absolutely nothing that will help unless they are under the care of a professional and right medication. Mental health is a major issue in this country that is always the first in every states budget cuts...that is because people not not really understand it unless they have a loved one going through it. So before people jump to conclusions and say its selfish, they should really get educated.
