There are ALWAYS outlier racists. Always. It's the human condition. My argument is that it's utterly idiotic to believe that they are not INTENTIONALLY giving you their point of view. That you and I AGREE WITH THAT POINT, is incidental to the argument.

Overall I think you and I are about the same place on this. I don’t think most brands are consciously trying to sell some social agenda. Certainly some brands align themselves with various walks of life. For example see Black Rifle Coffee Company as an example that does it on the conservative side.

I just think that this topic allows people on the fringes a good way to subtly peddle their brand of extremism (on both sides), when ultimately mixed race couples shouldn’t matter.

OK - So I get that the companies want to show appeals to a bunch of races in one single advertisement. I'm OK with the mixed race couples and mixed race families they show - but I do find it odd.

...but it pisses me off that the white guy/couple always has to be the buffoon. Example Cox commercial where a white couple wants to "return" the house they bought because it has AT&T internet. Black real estate agent calmly tells them about how they can get Cox internet - What the frick? Who is this stupid? Oh yeah - white people...

That's incomplete. The correct answer is BOTH. To sell products and sell point of view. C'mon guys, use your head.

They are selling a product and a version of America that reflects their Coastal ad-agency views. Nothing wrong with that, and not sure why people get agitated and go into denial when people point out the obvious.

have you worked with an ad agency before? They market research the shite out of these things. frick when I worked for a bank, they would market test the color of grey to use on the credit card offer letters.

Most of the add agencies are run by black males and since black males prefer white women, they want to try to embed in everyone's heads that it is OK. It will never be OK with me and my family. We treat everyone the same, but stop at interracial relationships.

Just like the ad guy in the article said. They are pushing this diversity BS because that's how they want people to see the world.
Its the liberal media trying to tell people that interracial relationships are ok.... when they are not

Yes. The real incidence is less than 10 percent. I guess showing interracial couples at that level would be fine, but the number you see on TV seems to be around 60 percent or more. So it seems pretty manipulative. I've read that there are four big advertising firms-- and to some extent their culture and the culture of corporations buying advertising isn't completely subject to product sales. Advertisers give each other awards for innovation, creativity, etc. Probably there are awards for diversity too. Another factor is that these firms are either coastal or large metropolitan. So aspirational liberal values (which are different from the values of average Americans of whatever race) are at play. One reason people react against this is that they feel pushed around by enforced liberalism.
