My practice is - Big Single Player Games on carts - BotW, Odyssey, Doom, Xenoblade - everything else as downloads. Personally, I don't want to carry around a bunch of carts. I usually keep one in the unit, whatever is on my mind at the moment, while I travel.

I do have the NBA street game, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and snipper clips downloaded.
But splatoon, Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, and now xenoblade I have cartridges for. There's just something satisfying to me about clicking that cartridge into place.
