Heading to Texas in a couple weeks to deer hunt. Texas says have to keep a head with it, LA says no heads from other states can cross into LA. Not really sure on how to legally get the meat from TX into LA.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

And keep it hidden. Don't have any horns showing or hunting gear if you can keep from it.

Just have it processed in Texas and shipped to you in LA.

Meat isn't an issue, just spinal bones and soft tissue. If you kill a deer that you intend to mount you need to cape it out like a taxidermist would and cut the horns off leaving them attached to the skull plate. Peal the membrane off of the inside and clean it with water. You shouldn't have any problems doing this, other than it's a pain to cape it off the skull correctly. I recommend a set or razor blades and a screwdriver to assist.
