I have a hard time believing Inception is the 5th most divisive film ever, especially considering The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar are far more divisive. I don’t really hear too much of people debating Inception’s quality, while people have gone to town on both sides about Interstellar.
Naaaa. Some people think Inception is the greatest science fiction film ever made and is/was the second coming of 2001. Others think it's a high quality action film.
Both views have merits, but they are world's apart.
Additionally, remember these are probably views at release or close to it, many films will see an alteration of that reaction and settle into a more long term place in cinema after a few years.
See that very film, Inception. I don't think anyone would argue the first view much anymore. It's a great high-quality action movie with an interesting premise. It isn't a revolutionary science fiction film.

in re: to Inception
I don't see how "it was great" vs "no, it was just really good" is considered divisive.
I don't even remember any debate from critics, don't feel like looking it up but I'm guessing it's scored pretty high on rotten tomatoes, can't recall reading any negative reviews for Inception... I don't think I've ever gotten into a single argument with anyone of any movie knowledge on it, and I know people when I was in high school that hated Pulp Fiction.. isn't it also in the top 15 of imdb..
to this list I say, much ado about nothing ungrateful fool!
