Nothing is stopping it. They’re portraying him as intelligent, which is sure he is when it comes to whatever got him at NASA but he’s obviously a dumbass in physiology.

Unless there’s more to this gene editing than the article says there is( which I’m 99% positive there isn’t in this context) he’s going to kill himself.

What he’s messing with is so much more complex than simply the level of one single Protein.

Someone working in their garage will come up with some profound discovery that will revolutionize the species on how we treat disease (or prevent them entirely).

Kind like Jobs and Wozniak in the 70s with PCs.
