It still didn't stop us from actively bringing them here as though it was important at the time to make some early social statement.

We knew they were neo-Marxists, but did it anyway.

We protected them, gave them positions in many of our key institutions, and apparently made them feel secure and comfortable enough that they had no compunctions about openly revealing exactly what they thought of us, and the vision they had for the future of this country and the entire West.

But then this nation has a history of pandering to ingrates who hate it.

Some quotes that afford some insight into the collective psyche of those in the cabal we invited here in the late '30s and early '40s as political émigrés from Germany:
