I'm of the opinion that this season is the high water mark in the O era.

Yes...my feelings exactly. I always assumed this was going to be a slow bleed. That the most aggravating part about it would be watching fans, happy they finally got rid of Miles, justifying similar or worse records for the local boy whose dream job it was to coach dem Tigahs.

The fact that it all came off the rails so fast has actually adjusted expectations for people whether they realize it or not.

For me as well. Never saw that coming...but yes, and many others predicted the goal post moving when many were suggesting LSU would not win another SEC game, remember? Many here kept suggesting not to buy into that line of thinking because when there was a bit of a turn around we'd suddenly be told to get all hyped for a 9 win season, because in the fact of getting prison raped by State and dragged round by Troy, 9 wins would look like a genius was at the helm. I didn't agree with those worries at the time, but they seem damn prescient now.

We are more than likely going to be worse every year under Orgeron as his ability to maintain/lure genius coordinators is not a sustainable long-term plan when combined with the steady loss of elite and experienced players.

Agreed. You had someone in this thread suggest that "if he can keeo the staff together." By virtue of getting "the best" there's no way to do that...the best coordinators want to move on to either better coordinator jobs in the NFL, or more likely head gigs. We bought a revolving door system from a guy that openly says he's going to stay out of the way. For me, this sounds like every time we have to hire a new guy, the excuse machine will light up declaring the need for time for the "new" system to be installed and for him to get "his" players. Ugh...

Basically, I'll be stoked to beat Bama and as always

Yup.
