Well that’s just not true.
I think neck and shoulder shots are pretty equal in effectiveness.

Unethical to neck shoot, bottom line. Just not much margin of for error and that error leaves a deer in a situation of starvation in most cases.

Yeah, but there's a lot more margin for error w/ a behind the shoulder shot compared to a neck shot.

Yeah, but a well made neck shot kills and drops the deer instantaneously. A deer shot behind the shoulder may run 100 yards or more.
For me, I think of the neck shot as shot for certain situations. Given the small margin of error and anatomy, the neck shot should be an "expert's" shot.
