Does = shoot the vitals. Wastes zero meat and is 100% lethal
Big deer = center the front shoulder and anchor him right there
I have neck shot deer and had success but there's very little margin for error. Also a neck shoot is what turned me off of Win Silvertips. I neck shot a doe with a 25-06 shooting Silvertips a few years ago and it never exited. Killed her though and made jelly of about a 8" section of neck. I just prefer 2 holes. I absolutely 100% refuse to take a head shot on a deer. This stems from having to go track a doe shot by a buddy(who is one of the best shots I personally know)he pulled just a hair and shot her lower jaw off. We had to track her the morning after he shot her the evening before and she was still alive and up but missing her lower jaw. Fact remains accidents happen and 95% of people ain't as good a shot as they would like to believe they are. We owe it to the deer to make as ethical and quick killing of a shot as we possibly can
