In 2015 Fournette had over 1950 yards and 22 TDs in less than 12 games averaging 6.5 ypc. Guice had over 400 yards and 3 TDs averaging almost 9 yards per carry. In 2016 a hurt Fournette had nearly 850 yards and 8 TDs averaging 6.5 ypc playing in only 7 games while Guice had nearly 1400 yards and 15 TDs averaging almost 7.6 ypc getting more than 5 carries in only 8 games.
With pretty much no passing game in either year, I'd say what they did as far as efficiency, consistency, and productivity, beats out any other SEC duo. Even when Gurley and Chubb were beasting it in 2014, they still had a complementary passing game. Fournette was doing what he did last year injured all year long. Gurley was never injured until his last game. LSU didn't utlize gimmicks to rack up yardage like Arkansas did with the wildcat either. We may have Fournette direct snap at the goal line once or twice, but that was about it. While the Auburn duo was great too, but they couldn't hold a candle to what Fournette and Guice can do on their own much less what they can do with a nice split of carries.
Fournette goes over 2k in 12 games in 2015 if just only one of his 3 big runs that were called back during the year, wasn't. Guice healthy and the OL not being complete crap (I mean they don't have to be great, just not complete crap), would have went over 2k this year. I mean you're talking about a guy who had 1300 yards and 15 TDs in 8 games last year.
Both being fully healthy, I always thought of them around the level of the Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders legacy.
