I clean it very well with warm soapy water. Scrubbing with a lot of elbow grease so to take everything off the pot. Allow to completely dry. Coat with thin layer of canola and bake at 400 or so for an hour. Turn off oven and allow to cool. Repeat the coat-bake-cool step for a couple times as needed
