Step 2: If the beggar keeps advancing toward you, put your dukes up and shout, "Don't get within striking distance!"

Step 3: If the beggar still advances, then strike repeatedly and mercilessly.

Step 4: If questioned by the cops say, "I feared for my life."

Step 5: Start referring to yourself as "Batman: The Hero We Deserve" at dinner parties.
