That’s a great point too, in spite of my previous post.
It’s like bombing a test. That one F may drop your grade for the semester beyond repair. So yeah, one loss can ruin many of the team’s goals.
Still, even with those two bad losses and even another one to Bama, we could still be sitting at 9-3 and in prime position for a marquee bowl game.
Most of the realistic probably didn’t expect to be in the playoff this year, despite what our new coach and idiot AD boasted at the introductory press conference, so being in line for a top SEC bowl has to be considered ok in my book.
So, at least where a fan’s perception of the season as a whole is concerned, which is how I was viewing the question, I do think good quality wins should outweigh a bad loss like Troy or MSU.
