McCarthy is a good offensive mind and has a pretty solid history of taking backup QBs and winning games with them. So I respect what he can come up with given a weeks preparation.
Brooks, Delhomme, and Flynn are 3 that immediately pop into mind that played well against good competition.
Those game scripts mostly follow a similar tempo to what Sean did against Carolina with McCown. He knows what his guy can do and will not ask them to be what they aren't.
They will not be afraid to take shots on occasion but will design plays to mostly manage favorable down and distance. They will try to eat clock to get Drew bored/cold on the sideline, slow down the tempo, and hope for the homefield/defense to make some stops/turnovers.
As long as the Saints take care of the ball, wrap up on tackles, and the defense doesn't play zone or all out blitz giving a first time starter favorable looks and a chance to get hot...McCarthy will not be able to mask the huge disparity between a HOF QB and a career backup.
This game is really the Saints to lose. The Packers are not built to rely on a running game...so Hundley will have to throw and with that OL he cant expect to just chill in the pocket. It will be a solid dose of quick passes.
I don't think it is a good matchup for GB based on how well Lattimore/Crawley are playing right now.
