MLB technically doesn't have a zero or three either. Players can go to a JuCo for either a year or two and get right back in the draft. Zero or three just applies to the NCAA schools.
Personally, I think it hurts college basketball to eliminate the rule, but the NBA is adamant about making the G-League (so dumb) relevant
