That is true heavier cars and high torque engines don't get along well with either DCTs or manuals mainly due to transmission weight and the manuals get clunky. When you start talking about more than 700lb/ft or torque you are going to have to make a tough decision. There are production DCTs that can handle 1200lb/ft, but they are heavy and expensive.
