The XL is ever so slightly smaller than my Nexus 6. I have decent sized hands so it's usually comfortable, but for one-handed use I have to keep switching my grip to reach different parts of the screen, which is kind of annoying sometimes. The XL will probably be similar. I think the smaller one would be more comfortable.
At least that's what I'm telling myself so I won't wish for the XL after getting the regular 2.
