He didn't have to say anything.
There are ways of tap dancing around a delicate question and answering it without actually answering it. All he had to do was kill a couple minutes with basic coachspeak and nobody remembers it the next day, because he handled it well.
Instead, Bebe chose to take the pissy and defensive route. And he came off looking insecure as hell.
