I haven't read the entire thread, but how would this even work? The US census recognizes 6 racial categories: white, black, Asian, native, Pacific Islander, or two or more races.
There isn't much ambiguity there. I guess if you were adopted you could be surprised, but I can get imagine many situations where someone finds out they're actually a majority of one race that they didn't already know.
