This is where you are wrong. In the 90's the house wasn't always packed and there were a lot fewer seats.
Now combine that with overpriced tickets, overpriced parking, overpriced concessions and a bad product on the field and watch how few people show up.
You're theory is just bad. It's OK to admit it, but don't keep trying to defend it.

This isn't the 90's (yet)
How good have we been since 2011?
It seems to me that Tiger Stadium is filling up, even when we fail to win the conference every year (or even come close)
