Why is a split perceived to be a good time to buy? Never could understand that. The per share price is always adjusted accordingly after the split, and you have no more or less dollars invested in the stock as you did pre-split.

What's the difference in having 100 shares at $50 or 50 shares at $100?

Im am looking at this as a long term play, the population is only growing and the amount of farmable land is always shrinking. I can't remember the exact numbers but in 20 years we will have to feed something like close to 50% more people using only two thirds of the land we use today.

And it makes feel a whole lot better buying shares at $30 than at $115.
