I called in to Gordy Rush on his show last year, and had a followup email exchange with him about it. It seems to be universally hated by fans, but he said the powers that be went around to all the other SEC stadiums to see what they were doing, and decided it was the wave of the future. His opinion was it is here to stay no matter what.

I dont know what kind of research they did, because one thing we can all agree on is it sucks. Maybe a mass email campaign would work. Or we could start booing and throwing things when the music comes up to get our point across.

People that don't care about football love hearing mainstream songs to dance to. Which right now is a large portion of the student section.

It's funny people still bitch about this. TGBFTL is by far the best band in college football. However, my Gen X arse loves it when they play some good music. I'm sick of ...I'm from Louisiana, but whatever.

I've never been a fan of band music. It's from a bygone era. But if you have to listen to music from the 1930's, then TGBFTL is the best!

Only people I hear bitch about it are folks my Dad's age. He's 73. So there you go.
