Will I have to pay sales tax difference for vehicle?

I just bought a new truck that is registered in Ascension for 9.5% sales tax. Vehicle is paid off.
We're moving to BR and I'm going to have to transfer my registration with 10% tax.
Will I have to pay the .5% difference of sales tax when I change registration address?

no, you pay sales tax based on where you live when you buy it, not every time you move unless you change states, if you cross state lines then you have to pay taxes on it again.
when i bought my truck in texas from a dealer, they registered it in louisiana and i only paid louisiana taxes for my address here but only dealers can do this. had it been a used car lot i would have had to pay sales taxes for texas and here.
you only need to change registration when it comes due or if you change states. you are good until it comes time for renewal

You only pay sales tax in the state you register the vehicle in. Does not matter if it is new or used.

Correct, you only pay sales tax in the state you live in. You can buy from any state used or new and not pay taxes until you register it in your state. In Louisiana you have 30 days to register from the date on the bill of sale, then they start charging you extra. Fines starting at $75 will be added to registration fees.
