I don't care for Osteen but maybe my phone glitched.
All I saw was them having the evacuated people stand up and they prayed for them.
Was that the right link?

Osteen and his church has to be aware of the optics considering they are on TV and have been in the spotlight recently. To anyone that attends church, it's easy to see that this is the end of the service where they take up the church offering (completely voluntary for members and visitors) and pray for something before singing a song.
But for someone unaffiliated with the church, they don't know what's going on. They just see the call for money from the people in the crowd and then spotlighting the Houston refugees for a prayer that calls on God to help them.
If you don't know any better, it comes across as "give us money; god save these folks."
