I'll also say that almost all homeschooled kids I know or knew, have been extremely kind people (and usually very book smart).

But that can be a detriment because they often do extra-curricular socialization with other homeschool kids and families. This doesn't expose them to the brutality of "mean kids". Not saying bullying is good in any way, but being around assholes does teach you that a lot of people in this world are assholes and shouldn't be trusted.
