Just do it, who cares what anyone else thinks. If they disagree with it then they don't have to give. To me it seems justified based on your circumstances, especially with a baby involved. I'm typically against gofundme, especially when people are asking for money for things that could have been prevented with good decision making. If you aren't comfortable with doing it yourself maybe ask a close friend or family member to do it on yalls behalf.
