He could have avoided using any kind of good adjectives to describe the people there Friday night with torches.
Very fine people was his biggest mistake. Even if there actually were people there who were quietly protesting the removal Friday night, why make an openly hostile Medias job easier. They will absolutely take what you said, pick what they want it to mean regardless of what you meant, and run it into the ground 24/7. It wasn't smart.

Both you and SFP seem to be alluding to the context of the media being vehemently against Trump. I personally don't care about that part, the media is absolutely biased against him no matter what. I am more interested in the substance of what he said. I didn't really look too much into the Charlottesville story, so I'm not sure if it virtually all Neo Nazi freaks or if there were some more normal people there as well.
