I wish FIFA would change this rule back to how it used to be. If a kid is talented enough at 12 years old to play in one of the major youth academies then let him go there.

All I want is regional youth academies. Iceland has shown that in an efficient system, you don't need a large population. You need coaching, access to grounds, and equipment. The regional idea works for the US, and I think it makes so much sense that it will surely never be enacted.
